My Story
Personal Life
My first curiosity was sparked by great historical movies, and the individual heroic journeys and their virtues. A good battle scene was, and still is, more poetic to me than any romantic film I have ever seen. By the age of ten, I had filled almost ten notebooks drawn with battlefield scenarios, castle designs, and different military scenarios as the main theme. I only stopped with it when I ran out of scenarios to draw. In the process, I learned a thing or two about positioning, strategy, and execution that I apply as my philosophy in life and business today.
In school, I was quite terrible, so much so that I was told by my primary school teacher that I was the stupidest child she had ever seen. However, I was always at the top of the class in History. I was also a several-time national Archery champion, which pushed me through the school system. Despite being quite talented in several sports, I knew that was not my calling after I received a book about why we should read books in the first place. I was quite captivated, as I was never much of a reader, but the newfound interest really sparked my intellectual curiosity.
Over time I found myself exploring more and more the universal science behind the art of storytelling and its connection with the individual heroic journeys, and the impact on broader world. As I was closing in on my questions about the history of the world I became particularly fascinated with Guy Ritchie’s simplistic philosophy about the essence of narrative and storytelling itself which came to as a missing piece of the puzzle in my personal life.
In the last few years I have found much clarity in exploring philosophies that have shaped the narrative, both individual and institutional. The attempt to answer my own intellectual curiosities brought me to a realisation that the ultimate success in life is living presently in a state of deep gratitude for everyday life, and that there isn’t a great answer or formula on how to live a life. One can only stay curious to never stop exploring the beauty of life while searching for what truly matters beneath the noise.
Professional Life
Life took me to England to study Business where I got pulled into the understanding of modern business narrative which was greatly influenced by Warren Buffett’s philosophy of identifying the unexplored leverage and overlooked value. 2nd philosophical influence on how I look at growing companies came from Peter Thiel’s book, From Zero To One from which I took great value on thinking originally and taking something from 0 to 1. By reading it I have realised that for most businesses it’s enough to get better by several points in different areas and use that as the leverage which will ultimately combine that into one main leverage point that will become a differentiator in their positioning and marketing.
Despite not becoming the next Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg at 21 I still had a pretty adventurous journey. After the first year at university I took a summer job in a restaurant where, without knowing it at the time, some of the most influential people in the world were regular guests. The beautiful, isolated bay we were in brought out the best in everyone, which resulted in many great conversations and lasting memories.
I left the island with many stories, pieces of advice, and business cards I was told to call after finishing university if I wanted a job. But I was determined to follow my own path. At the age of twenty-one, I made my first significant mark by helping grow a company digitally, which led to opportunities to work as the digital growth person for several other companies over the years. Eventually finding my leverage in combining my lifelong interest in strategy and intelligent positioning with my specific knowledge of the digital realm and the talent of understanding human nature on the individual and generic level.
Beyond helping other companies grow I’m actively working on my own ventures with the biggest aim to make an impact in how people connect digitally when it comes to romantic relationships and their professional lives.
